Model Options: A wide array of options to customize the extinguishers is available: 5 lb--Slim design used on vehicles and machinery where space is limited. Typical applications include buses, lift trucks, boats, and production line machinery. 10 lb--Designed for high fire-frequency areas where light or ordinary fire hazards exist such as paint lockers. Ideal for installation in remote locations such as on utility and forestry trucks where smaller fires do occur. 20 lb--Designed for larger fires in high-risk areas such as compressors and turbines, storage drums, and oil pumping stations. 30 lb--Designed for larger, intense fires that may occur such as in warehouses, fuel / storage locations, or in mining and heavy construction sites. Additional product features:
Agent Options: A choice of agents satisfies specific protection requirements and includes: FORAY Dry Chemical--A monoammonium phosphate-based agent for use on Class A (wood, paper, cloth), Class B (flammable liquids and gases), and Class C (electrical) fires. Purple-K Dry Chemical--A potassium bicarbonate-based agent that is the most effective ANSUL agent for knock-down of Class B (flammable liquids and gases) and Class C (electrical) fires. PLUS-FIFTY C Dry Chemical--A sodium bicarbonate-based agent for use on Class B (flammable liquids and gases) and Class C (electrical) fires. MET-L-X--A sodium chloride-based dry powder for use on most Class D fires involving combustible metals is listed by UL for use on sodium, potassium, and magnesium alloys. (C-models only) MET-L-KYL--A sodium bicarbonate-based dry chemical and activated absorbents specially designed for suppressing Class D fires involving most trialkyl aluminums. Most of these metal-organic compounds are pyrophoric liquids that ignite on contact with air such as triethylaluminum. (C-models only) LITH-X--A graphite-based dry powder blended for use on lithium fires. LITH-X agent is also effective on fires involving high melting point metals such as zirconium, titanium and sodium potassium. (C-models only) Options and sizes vary based on model type. See a local distributor for details. Feature Options: A number of customizable models are available to meet the specific needs of every customer: Corrosion-Resistant (CR) Models
Ring Pin (RP) Models--The ring pin, when inserted in the cartridge High Flow (HF) Models--The extinguisher is equipped with a special nozzle and nozzle tip to maximize agent flow rate delivery of over 1 lb per second of agent The nozzle handle is painted red to differentiate it from standard flow extinguishers. Note: The high flow agent extinguishers have been designed to fight flammable liquid and gas fires. NFPA10 defines three specific Class B fire hazards for high flow extinguishment as: Pressure Fire Hazards, Three Dimensional Fire Hazards, and Obstacle Fire Hazards. (Reference NFPA 10, Paragraph 5.5.1.1.1 and 5.5.1.1.2, Section 4-3.1 and 4-3.3). The high flow extinguishers can also extinguish all Class B:C fires. Low Temperature (LT) Models--The LT model is equipped with a nitrogen cartridge, cartridge receiver, and hose that are listed and approved for operation in environments with temperatures as low as -65 °F (-54 °C). |
